In this webinar, researchers from the Interdisciplinary Spatial Informatics for Global Health (INSIGHT) Research Lab at the University of Ottawa’s School of Epidemiology and Public Health, led by Dr. Manisha Kulkarni, will present on their research investigating the social and ecological determinants and drivers of vector-borne disease emergence and risk in Eastern Ontario. INSIGHT’s research projects are exploring the spatial epidemiology and ecology of West Nile virus and Lyme disease using a multidisciplinary approach, integrating field-collected and disease surveillance data. Findings are helping us to understand how climate and other factors are impacting vectors and vector-borne diseases to inform disease surveillance and prevention efforts.
