Hear about a new resource for journalists covering increasingly common and devastating climate emergencies. The guidance features advice on safeguarding the mental and physical wellbeing of journalists while also being mindful to minimize harm and improve resilience for interviewees and news consumers in affected regions. Developed by a national journalism body on trauma-informed reporting in collaboration with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) in BC, which has been supporting CMHA branches in climate resilience efforts for almost 10 years.
