Climate change has created new challenges with rising global temperatures, increased frequency of extreme weather events, and deteriorating air quality. The impacts of wildfire events on water quality are severe and can be detrimental to surface waters through deposition of contaminants as well as water systems when heat and fire deteriorate materials used to store and deliver water. This webinar will highlight the monitoring of post-fire coastal water quality in Hawaii and the risk of contamination from piping materials after a wildfire event.
Speakers: Juliette O'Keefe, J Ivor Norlin, Elizabeth Carton, and Karen Levy
