While cannabis remains an illegal Schedule I substance under federal law, most states have legalized cannabis for medical use and a rapidly growing number have legalized it for adult-use. Within state sanctioned cannabis systems, there are a broad range of cannabis products available to medical and recreational users. Edible cannabis products create a special set of public health challenges. This presentation will explore the various state policies addressing issues of child access, product safety, product testing, food safety regulations, and the intersection with hemp derived products.
