CIPHI Seminar Series: IPAC and Construction in Healthcare Settings

Topics
University Health Network in Toronto has the largest dedicated construction infection control unit in Canada. The program covers about 9 million square feet and hundreds of projects. The discussion will include data collection methods, descriptive statistics, and case studies used to grow the unit, enhance program delivery and reduce patient and institutional exposure risk.
Public Health Inspectors are already in many health care settings and have complimentary skills to become infection control practitioners. The construction infection control field continues to grow. Inspectors and Infection Control Practitioners can use these risk assessment techniques, data collection and strategic initiatives to recognize and grow construction infection control programs in large and small health care facilities.
