My primary affiliation is with the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Applied Health Research (NLCAHR), where I work as a project coordinator and knowledge translation specialist in an integrated KT initiative, the Contextualized Health Research Synthesis Program (CHRSP). From 2011-2016, I was Co-Chair (Research) of the Building Healthy Communities Collaborative (BHCC), a working group of the Provincial Wellness Advisory Council, that sought to promote and establish healthy built environment policy in Newfoundland and Labrador. BHCC transitioned into the Healthy Built Environment Advisory Group to the Minister of Children, Seniors and Social Development, on which I currently sit. I am also a doctoral student in the Divisioin of Community Health and Humanities in the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University. My dissertation project intends to study the barriers and facilitators to the Province's implementation of a Health in All Policies model.
