Cristin Muecke was appointed Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Health for the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health (New Brunswick Department of Health) in 2018, and had been acting in that role since 2016. Between 2013 and 2018, she held the position of Medical Officer of Health for Provincial Programs. She was the Regional Medical Officer of Health for Central Region (Fredericton and Upper River Valley) for 8 years (2005-2013). She obtained her medical degree at Dalhousie University and specialized in Public Health and Preventive Medicine (including a Masters degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics) at McGill University. She has been actively involved with various professional associations and societies including the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, Public Health Physicians of Canada, the New Brunswick Medical Society, and the Public Health Association of New Brunswick and PEI. She lives in Fredericton with her husband and four beautiful children.
